Got a question. Trying to figure out the preference of this board
Do you guys want the series thread or do you want single game threads?
For example
Game # 1 lad @ Arizona DBacks
.........
..........
Game #40 nym @ Arizona Dbacks

......
......
And so on...

Hopefully most Will see this. Thanks for the input!

Personally, I like game threads, with each ID'd as Game 1 or Game 2 or Game 3 of the series.

When the Suns play back-to-back (home & away) games with the same opponent, each one gets its own thread.

If time proves that most threads have only 4 or 5 posts, then lumping the series together should be reconsidered.

We know that this is not going to be a banner year for our D-backs.

And as far as ID'ing what number game it is of the season, I think it is a good item to add.

I’ll try the single game threads during spring training.
If they don’t do so hot I’ll just stick to the series thread, when the season starts.
We’ll see how it goes.

Anybody else watch baseball movies to get ready for the season?

I just found a documentary on Netflix called "No No"

Its about Doc Ellis throwing a no hitter on Acid. I didn't even know this happened.

Hysterical.

Hmm, I'll have to look for that one. But yeah, I usually pick a few in my "top 10," in kinda-sorta order

Major League (Tom Berenger, Arnie Becker, Blade)
Bull Durham (Wyatt Earp, Florence)
The Natural (Brubaker, Frank Burns, crazy lady from "Fatal Attraction")
A League of Their Own (Thelma...or Louise, I can't remember which)
The Sandlot (pretty much no one)
Bang The Drum Slowly (D.A. Ben Stone, Travis Bickle)
Eight Men Out (Loyd Dobler Jim Ignatowski)
The Bad News Bears (Oscar Madison, John McEnroe's ex)
The Pride Of St. Louis (Col. Traubman from Rambo)
...and what might be the best film title ever, "The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings." :D (Lando Calrissian, Darth Vader, Jo Jo Dancer)

Fun stuff! :D

No Field of Dreams? Kevin Costner, James Earl Jones, Bert Lancaster. I guess you're not old enough to be nostalgic.

It is my favorite. I cry every time I think of the line, "Do you want to have a catch, John? Er, Dad?"

It reminds me of how my father and I first connected -- throwing a baseball on the side of the house.

My friend, I just turned 49. So I'm officially old. At least as the crazies at the WaMPO would consider.

It's a great film. I personally love it. But my dad never got into it. He hated the final scene, and that always crushed my fanboy-ism for the film. We connected more over a football. But hey, that's my list. Make your own and I'll probably buy into it. Just please don't include Mr. Baseball. Then we'll have a fight! :D
