2 time pro bowler just released by the Eagles. Eagles shifting to 4-3 defense and Ryans has been pushed out. ( natural 3-4 lb )

Willing to bet he'll try to command a lot more than we want to spend. If no one signs him after a couple weeks of FA, we'll snag him for a deal if we want him. He has 1 year deal written all over him.

Funny thing about Demeco Ryans. He was let go by the Texans because they were going to a 3-4 and Ryans was not a fit. Ryans goes to Philadelphia because at the time they were a 4-3, spends a couple years in Philly, and stays with the team as they go to a 3-4.

Now Philly goes to a 4-3, and Ryans is released because he is made for a 3-4 defense.

Linebackers are linebackers, IMHO.

Between Ryans abd Daryl Smith, the Cardinals could probably get one of them on a prove it deal.

Would rather draft a 3 down ILB rather than settle on a 1 year deal because then we have to worry about the position again next year.

I think Ryans will be available for a while, but if he is willing to take a lower amount, he could be a good signing. We need bodies at ILB.

Don't know how good he is now but a few years ago he was really good. I would like us to add an ILB that is really good. Hopefully SK makes the right choice.

He is a leader and quality vet. Not sure how much gas he has left in the tank but the intangibles are outstanding.

We need bodies at LB so sign them all and see what sticks if you have to.
