I love disaster movies for some reason. I don't know why. Even the mediocre ones I tend to like. My wife hates em. LOL.

I'll watch it when it's released on DVD. Primarily because I'm a ridiculously big fan of The Rock.

Reminds me of the movie 2012.

Think it is but on a smaller scale. Don't think the entire world is effected in this one. I could be wrong though

Earthquake...

I saw that movie on a rainy night in Hollywood. It came out a couple of years after the Sylmar quake so the audience was full of people who had been through a major earthquake.

During an early scene where they are inspecting the top of the dam (which was a few miles from the theater) there was a huge BOOM! that shook the theater. People started screaming thinking the Big One had actually hit. After a few seconds someone called out "Thunder! It's thunder!" Which made everyone burst out in (nervous) laughter as we realized it was thunder. Totally killed the mood and suspense for the rest of the movie. Sensurround lost out to Mother Nature .

Special effects look pretty cool. I'm sure there are sooo many unrealistic parts too

how the hell did this movie not end with a huge boulder between Johnson and Tits McGee with him saying "NO ROCK STANDS BETWEEN ME AND MY DAUGHTER" and then proceeding to headbutt it into a bajillion pieces to save the day?

and yes... the daughter... WOW.
