"I actually don't think he's that good," cornerback Jeremy Lane said Thursday, via The Seattle Times. "He's OK. But he does have a big body, and from what I've seen on tape, he don't like your hands being put on him."

Um you mean when you pass interference him? Holding? Yeah, nobody likes that bro. It's illegal. lol

Gronk is destroying the TE record book. He is a total freak of nature and if he can stay healthy he will go into the HOF and be regarded as one of the greatest of all time. But yeah, he's not that good. rofl

All the deflate gate aside, I hate the seahawks and I hope the Pats embarrass them and stuff all this nonsense down their throats. FALSE BRAVADO. IMAGINED DISRESPECT.

Just like Sherman yelling after the GreenBay game was handed to them on a silver platter. "We do diss cuz errrbody disrespectin us son! Errrbody wrote us off..."

Um when exactly were they being written off? I remember a couple guys asking what was wrong with Seattle when they lost at home to the Cowboys but I dont remember anyone disrespecting them or writing them off. lol So dumb!

I'm just dying waiting for Pete to get all self righteous about this deflategate situation, bring your umbrellas people because it's gonna be raining irony!

Pretty ridiculous for Jeremy Lane to make such a statement since Gronk is a pro-bowler and Lane isn't even a starter. Lots of athletes talk big or try and talk others down because they really are not that good comparatively.

We will see if Gronk is any good since Lane is the nickel back and may be covering him next week.

Unreal. Not the smartest thing to say to a 6'6 265 TE that will run you over. I can honestly say I have never even heard of Jeremy Lane....

Seahawks' mouths are writing alot of checks, we'll see if they're butts can still cash them.

Even if they can, the Seahawks run their mouth worse then Muhammad Ali, which is much more excusable since it's one on one and literally fighting.

Sherman's idiocy is rubbing off on the rest of the secondary, what a leader.

I hope they run, throw, and block Sherman so much they expose that arm of his and let his inability to perform be the deciding factor in the game.

At this point the size of Sherman's humble pie belongs in the Guinness book of world records. If he isn't served it at the Superbowl, he'll be served it eventually when he wears down like every athlete eventually does. The only thing he can do is delay the inevitable, because when he falls, it's going to come down on him harder than Manziel.

Like the old tired saying goes, if you look in a dictionary for the word comeuppance, you see a picture of Richard Sherman.

The Seahawks shut down Jimmy Graham in the playoffs, I'm pretty sure their capable of doing the same thing to Gronk.

I don't think people realize that the Seahawks may have the best defense of all time.

10 years from now people will be comparing every great defense to this Seahawks defense saying "Yea their defense is real good but it's no 2013/2014 Sehawks defense".

Maybe. But when it's all said and done for Gronk he may well end up being the best TE of all time...so...

Meh, last year I get. This year, not so much...didn't look all that great last week in particular. If they dominate NE like they did Denver last year, maybe someone will say that, but so far they just look like a great defense, not a decade defining defense.

Greatest of all time???? Please you must be kidding their D last year was great, this year not as dominant. Still not close to imo even the ravens dominant D with Ray Lewis a few years back, let alone the 85 Bears.

I'd go with the Steel Curtain myself.

Meh, last year I get. This year, not so much...didn't look all that great last week in particular. If they dominate NE like they did Denver last year, maybe someone will say that, but so far they just look like a great defense, not a decade defining defense.

They haven't had the QB pressure and turnover fortune of last year. They weren't great on 3rd down or red zone to start the season. Smoothed those elements out.

Last week they held the packers to 171 yards passing (4.9 yards per), 1 TD, 2 Ints, 1/3 in the red zone for TDs, 3/14 on 3rd down and held them to 16 points in the first half despite getting no rest from their offense or ST due to turnovers and having drives start on the defense half of the field on average. They forced a pair of huge 3 and outs in the 4th quarter as well. The D played very well against GB.

The past 2 seasons they have allowed the fewest yards in the league. This year they gave up 267 YPG, the only team under 300 YPG (the YPG at the league median for team rank was about 350 YPG). Last year they gave up 273 YPG, again the only team under 300 YPG. Median was around 345. Three seasons ago they gave up 306 YPG - that was 4th in the league.

However, that year they did lead the league in points against at 15.3 - median at 22. Last year they dropped that to 14.4 PPG and led the league again. Median was close to 24. This year was a league best 15.9 - median at 22.

So that's 3 straight years where they allowed the fewest points and have been about a TD better than the middle of the pack teams.

The defense is also a big part of the reason why they have had the lead in every game since the start of the 2012 season.

It's a big part of why they haven't lost a game by double digits since November 6th of 2011, a 23-13 loss to the Cowboys. In the 63 games since they have only lost 1 game by more than a TD, a 9 point loss to SD this year where it was a 6 point game late and the offense didn't convert on 4th down in their own territory that gave SD the position and time to push it more than 1 score.

The defense is a pretty special group - in the past 3 years they are 10-0 against SB winning QBs.

Who knows how long it will last, but the defense has been very legit.

BTW, when this was brought up today Pete Carroll had a great line - basically saying that Gronk was a great player and that "Jeremy just hasn't watched film yet"

I think it is just the classic case of a backup trying to get his name in the media by saying outrageous things during Super Bowl week. Lane knows he definitely wont be matched up with Gronk, and is unlikely to even be on the field with him, so he talks the smack.

Personally, I think Gronk could be a big weapon especially with Thomas and Sherman banged up. Not sure I want to give the guy any extra motivation.

Lane may have some initial responsibility in the slot, but more likely chasing their shifty smaller receivers

I expect a combination of Wright, Irvin and kam on gronk, which could benefit their running game

Yeah, no fricking way they are the greatest of all time.

In addition to other defenses already mentioned...

1. Tampa's defense when they won the Super Bowl was as good and probably better.

2. 1970's: Dolphins "No Name Defense" and Dallas' "Doomsday Defense" were more dominant.

3. Finally, hello the STEEL CURTAIN of the Steelers for chrissakes. That defense alone has four HOF ers. Incredible. Seattle will never match that.
