I was so angry after the interception to end the half, I turned off the television and started to make the family dinner. I get that the Cardinals won, but I missed out on the goal line stand, and hence, the vibe of the proverbial tide turning. However, I will try my best to entertain this post with a few of my thoughts.

The appetizer:

It appears that everyone has bought into the 'start fast' mode of playing this game. I had to find my reading glasses to make sure that the Cardinals were indeed inside the 10 yard line of the Seahawks within the first five minutes of the game. Good for Palmer on the crossing to Golden. The TE from SD needs to work with Karlos after practice.

Main Course:

I was reading over the stats, and was impressed with the unbalanced performance that the offense gave Seattle yesterday. Sixty-Three percent running, to Thirty-Seven passing. Color me both shocked and impressed that something like that would happen. Kudos to the Cardinals coaching for going outside of the meat and potatoes that is known as the Cardinals passing (first) game.

Another stat that can go hand in hand with this one, is the TOP. The Cardinals had the ball a whole stinking quarter more than the Hawks? 15 minutes? Never heard of, especially in that acoustically privileged building they call a stadium.

And the icing on the cake:

After it was decided that Mr 'Throwing my name in the hat/DPOY' made the interception, how many thought here that for sure the Cards were going to have to punt it again. Granted, it would've been with 10 - 20 seconds on the board, but still it is the Cards MO. The last real play of the Cardinals offense brought a smile to my ugly mug. To end the game on a run up the middle, and to get 10 to 11 yards packaged the statement of this game nicely:

thanks for the sandwich Pete.

Great start – they need to score next time.
Great defense – ends with a turnover.
Decent Running game – 140 total yards on the game.
37 minutes for the Cardinals offense – something not seen around here for an away game.
Smack on the face – ends with an 11 yard run and victory formation.

Even with the lost quarter, it was a great meal.

Go Cards. Go Falcons. Go Bucs.

Dinner is important but I've got to say, you missed the clank. One of the best sounds I've ever heard in a lifetime of watching this game. It seemed louder than anything I've heard in that stadium, which admittedly, is a pretty loud place.

I can't even snack during our games much less think about a meal. I don't know if I should be impressed or smack you upside the head.

That clank symbolizes what the word clank means.

Our coach's favorite play is clearly 3 yds and a cloud of dust up the middle with Mendenhall. Mendenhall is deadly inside the 5 yard line. Not very exciting but does use up the clock and makes the defense have to defend against the run at all times. The coach is rather a smart guy but every once in a while calls a play I do not like. We were on about the 3 yard line of Seattle on 2nd or 3rd down. It seemed like the obvious play for Mendenhall as we had 3 yds and 2 downs. So he calls a pass into the endzone. 99% of the time he would call on Mendenhall or one of the RBs. Aside from a great defense he has shown that running the ball can be very effective this year so when Palmer does pass he usually has someone to pass to. Our defense proved Wilson is mortal after all and I bet other teams playing Seattle will look at our film of this game closely. Of course not everyone has a Campbell, Dockett, Dansby, etc. Who would have ever thought we would be 10-5 and going for 11-5? And still possible not making the playoffs. We will probably win 4 more games than some team making the playoffs.

Got to give Palmer and Fitz some kudos for playing hurt.

Okay, can we all imagine how the game would've turned out if I would've watched the whole thing? You are welcome. :D

John H - hooray for BA's favorite play then. It would be telling of how good this coaching staff is, if the Cards could get 140 rushing next week. With this piecemeal/makeshift/revamped o-line. To even get over 100 with the way these two teams play each other would be a feat.

Go Cards Go Falcons Go Bucs.
