Did anyone else even notice that Skelton wasn't even active today? Not even as emergency QB? That was a statement from Whiz, to be sure. They only dressed 2 guys - the horrendous rookie, and the career backup you just brought in 2 weeks ago. Kinda says it all, regarding just how hopeless the situation is.

He was not on the field because he was still under the bus out in the parkinglot. Whiz bled that sucker dry, then moved on to Lindsey. No point in Lindsey dressing out next weekend either by Whiz's logic. Hoyer is a perfect scapegoat this next week. Whiz can still place the blame on Hoyer after the loss, but it will be softened by the "he hasn't had much time here" stuff. Eventually, they all aren't active anymore. Not even as an emergency QB.

It's so hopeless the Bears fans weren't even talking any smack after the game. I think most of them felt bad about kicking fans while they are down. I mean, that game was like taking candy from a baby.

You know Whisenhunt would have cut him already. The FO has put handcuffs on him for personnel moves.

Skelton is a bad QB not because of some conspiracy by Whiz to hold him back. He sucks because he's inaccurate and has horrible preparation skills as evidence by his anemic starts, which include last season.

Whiz and the FO should however take the blame for trading up in the 2010 draft to select him.

Skelton was never drafted to be a starter. Injuries and horrendous QB play forced him into the lineup. You don't count on 5th round QB's to be your starting QB. You let them sit and develop into, hopefully, a capable #2 QB down the road. Sure there's the rare time a late round QB steps in, almost always because of injury, and surprises. But those are few and far between. The guy was at Fordham playing glorified high school football. He's developed fine, he's just not, or ever was that good.

They eliminated the emergency QB rule this year and we have only dressed 2 QB's on game day the entire year (and I think that's the same for pretty much the entire league).

Last year the tag for Brees was 14.4 million, I cant imagine the ravens paying that much for Flacco, maybe im wrong. You think he'll at least test the market if they dont tag him.

I can't see the Ravens letting him go and, if they did, I think his most logical destination would be the Jets. As incredible as it sounds, I think their QB situation is worse/less attractive than the Cards. At least if the Cards can get a QB, they have a WR corp in place for the QB to get the ball to. But, until the Cards ever win a bidding war for a high profile, wanted FA, which Flacco would be, I'm going to select the other team as a player's destination.

No chance. When you have a franchise QB, you don't let them get away. Baltimore will do what it takes to keep him there and I can't see any reason why he'd be in a hurry to leave there.

Hindsight being what it is, if Brown had turned out to be the 2nd coming of Grimm himself people wouldn't be poo-pooing that pick. But chew on this: as bad as Brown is, he is still the best lineman on this team. Tells you something, doesn't it?

Regardless of what you think of Coach Whisenhunt, Skelton hasn't performed. He doesn't have the skills to be a starter in the NFL. He's proven that. I can't understand how you still believe in him.

He lacks the mental acumen and the accuracy to succeed. This is craziness.

4. Kirk Cousins---I watched him very closely last week, I believe some of you did as well. Saw him step in and play well the week before. I like him---he's shifty and throws a very accurate and catchable ball. The Redskins need draft picks---if the Cardinals were to offer their 2nd rounder---the Redskins might be very tempted to make the trade. Having looked at all the draft prospects at QB at length---I would rank Cousins right up there in the top three.

5. Chase Daniel---very intrigued, obviously, with him.

7. Ryan Fitzpatrick---might be on the way out of Buffalo. Have always liked him---and if he could elevate his game better in 4th quarters I think he could be very very good.

All 3 of these interest me, with Cousins being the greatest interest. I like him better than anyone currently in this draft except maybe Geno Smith, and definitely better than anyone we could get in the 2nd. He was a victim of being in a great QB draft and fell further than he should have.

Chase Daniel I don't see as the type who has elite NFL QB potential, but I think he can produce some offense which might be all we need.

Fitzpatrick has really turned into a turnover machine the past few years. I don't know if it's Buffalo asking him to be something he isn't, or if he's just losing what little talent he had. I'd love him as our long term backup, and could live with him as our short term starter if we had a rookie.

Ultimately, I sadly don't believe we can fix the QB position this year. The best we can hope for is adequate unless we gamble on a rookie and get lucky. I'd much rather we spend this off-season fixing our run game and find a QB who can just be a caretaker until we can find the right one. We're not a SB contender next year no matter what we do, it's better to not try to force the issue at QB and not end up making any real progress.

Agreed. Skelton either doesn't have the physical tools to be successful or doesn't have the work ethic. Either way, he was given a chance to be the man in this league and he failed to make the most of it.

Remember Skelton has always been considered a "gamer." I think Whis saw poor practice perfomances like the previous year but expected Skelton to turn it on in the game slike he did the previous year as well. That obviously did not happen.

IMO that is piss poor expectations. You got to practice how you play.

Well I was 100% on the Skelton bandwagon but at some point you have to just admit you were wrong. I was WRONG.
