ESPN, CBS, and FOX all say this is the weakest division in the NFL. Hey, the "HAGS" beat the Bears, the "Lambs" beat the "Chargers" we beat the "AINTS", can't be that BAD. This Bradford kid is for real, GO Max.

Was really hoping for different results from those games but you are right, the horrible NFC West is winning some games.

Won't be easy to take this division that is for sure.

I'm really hoping Hall / Bradford is the next decade's Brady / Manning. Really wishful thinking at this point though!

After our 1 point win over the Rams in St. Louis, I said that they were a very much improved team, and would go much farther than last year. I also looks like Carrol has the Hawks playing well too. Big win for them on the road. We will have our hands full with both of these teams going out the rest of this season. Good for our division.

Bad news is that we still have to face the Hawks in their house, which was already a hard place to win. Expect a hard to win game next week as we will have to all be on the same page with both effort and emotion. I hope the guys put in the extra work needed this week for us to compete in Seattle.

Meanwhile, Jason Campbell is keeping the 49ers hopes alive by doing literally nothing offensively

This is the catch 22 we are in.

We don't like the knocks on the division being the worst in football, because reflects poorly on the Cards too.

Yet, as most Cardinal fans probably feel, I would rather the Rams, Seahawks, and 49ers have lost.

Guess we can't have our cake and eat it too...

I'd actually love to see the division put three teams into the playoffs as long as we were one of them. Preferrably as division champs.

Well, if we're going to go for fantasy I'd like to see the Cards beat the Rams in the conference championship (renamed the Simmons Bowl for obvious reasons).

I think the West is proving to be tougher than anticipated but we probably still have the Weakest Division in the NFC title all locked up. Maybe opponents looked past us a little this week, forgetting the "on any given Sunday" rule.

We beat the Rams by 4 points. 17-13.

I haven't looked at the schedules, but it seems that the 49ers and Rams have played every game at home but one. Perhaps it just seems that way. Their second halfs will be a little tougher.

Yep.....look a our schedule. It's backloaded with home games, which does give
us a competitive advantage

Exactly. Only two of our first seven are at home. Being 3-2 at the bye and (hopefully) having found our QB puts us in great position for the rest of the season.

The AFC has the best divisions in the East,North, and South, all the other divsions are relatively equal.

Looking at our Division foes, objectively, I think it's fair to say in the long term the following needs to occur for the West to become a VG division:
1. SF-Need a better QB and coach. Though Singletary might improve, Smith probably won't.
2. SL-Bradford seems to be a star in the making. Probably a year away, and he must get some weapons (WR).
3. Seattle-Pete Carroll is my least favorite coach in the division, but in the short run he seems to be able to motivate his troops. Hasselbeck's best days are behind him, but he's still capable of a VG game, every now and then. Is Whitehurst the long term answer?

An oversimplified answer is that the Rams have the brightest future, since they already have the answer at QB. The Cards need to come up with a pass rush in order to keep pace. That's why I hope Schofield is able to play some this year so we'll know where we stand, going into the offseason. JMO.

Rationally I wanted all those teams to lose yesterday, but emotionally I did get some satisfaction from them winning. It would be nice to see more NFCW matchups as the national broadcast.

Exactly, like next week against Seattle! Both teams 3-2 with the winner taking sole possession of first place and then controlling their own destiny.

But with the media lovefest with the niners, we'll probably see the 1-5 49ers @ the 0-5 Panthers. /sarcasm

It may have seemed that way because the first 2 49ers home games were nationally televised, but they actually started the season like we did. They played 3 of their first 4 games on the road!

I didn't like our schedule either when it was released, but knowing towards the end of the season (Nov 29-Dec 25) that we'll play 4 of 5 games at home seems great now. I just hope those games will be meaningful then.

I confess I'm a little confused by that.

We always had tough starts because of the outdoor stadium -- playing a lot of away games early on.

So we got the indoor stadium, state of the art, and everyone was happy. So now we play a lot of away games early on.
