Absolutely 75 yards of that came on the jump ball Fitz won and the resultant YAC. But Kurt put the ball in the perfect place for Fitz to go get it so he should get some credit there too.

It was an amazing game by Kurt, Fitz and Q.
That juke by Fitz was a beauty!

I couldn't have said it better, so I won't. :)

Actually - Kurt really isn't all that "different"... He always was a gun-slinger. Always had tremendous toughness and extreme confidence in himself and his WR's. Always was fearless and felt he could put the ball in places most other QB's wouldn't even think about trying...
None of that has changed...
What has changed is everything else around him here in the desert. The team is now being coached, not mis-coached. We have a defense that takes a HUGE amount of pressure off the offense. We have what appears to be at minimum, an effective running game that also takes pressure off of the passing game... And, we have an o-line that is providing marginally better protection for Kurt - though there is still a ton more improvement needed there...

Kurt really hasn't changed much at all... But what is happening, and the distinction noted in this thread is more a matter of just how far this team has come versus any change in Kurt Warner...

I hope you are not saying that Kurt didn't share some of the blame for his troubles in previous years here.

All Matt needs to do is look at Aaron Rodgers and Matt Cassel...

Exactly! In a strange way the bench time may benefit Matt. Sort of like a car with low mileage lasts more years, maybe a quarterback with low minutes (and taking less hits), will be fresh and ready to roll whether it's next season, or in relief this season. He looked decent in limited play Sunday IMO.

Where did you get that notion from? Why even go down that path?? Someone suggested Kurt has changed or is "different". I responded to that specific suggestion. Do you believe Kurt has changed or is different? If so, how??

Keep your goating to the P&R forum dude... This forum is now officially a feel-good forum! ;)

Easy there. I think he is sucking less. I win.

Works for me... He is indeed sucking less... as is the entire team... we are 2 & 0 and if that means "you win", I'm quite good with that! ;)
So you weren't suggesting Warner was blameless. Cheers.

Hey, I found a place in Chicago with great Italian pastries for about a dollar each. I will dedicate the next cannoli to Warner in your honor.

Be sure it has a minimum of 3 chocolate chips on each end and is drizzled with lemon or orange syrup!! Oh - and generous amount of powdered sugar sprinkled all over!!

Yep 2 starts in a row without a fumble, last time he did that was 2004, before that 2002.

I'm too lazy to look up how long since he went 2 games without any turnovers at all but I'm guessing it's fairly rare in recent years.

He's doing a great job of protecting the ball and still managed to completely torch the Dolphins.

KW is playing great; I'd wager even better than the most hardcore KW backers would have guessed.

As has been noted, the big difference is that he's not putting the ball on the turf.

82, Kurt has made two big changes:

1. He's wearing a glove on his throwing hand and changing to a new one after pre-game warmups to ensure the "tackyness" is maximized.

2. He's consciously protecting the ball, grasping it in both hands, when the pocket collapses around him. You had to have seen that these things in the first two games.

It's partly excellent coaching. partly the gloves, partly having two already very good wide receivers who seem to get better every game, and partly having a stable and decent pass-protecting offensive line IMO.

The ability was always there IMO, it's just that now the pieces are in place and the confidence is totally restored. As Denny Green famously said when Kurt first arrived in the desert, as long as the other 10 guys do their jobs, Kurt will be fine. Well, the other 10 guys are doing their jobs, Kurt has dramatically improved his own ball security, and the results are vintage Kurt Warner.

Where are all the Leinart backers now? Warner has shown he was the perfect fit for this team the way it is built. If we go in and and beat Washington by putting up 28+ points...Watch out league!

Who gives two craps? Kurt's playing great. Matt may or may not be the heir. Why must you troll?

I want to see the Cards up by so many points, that this is actually considered. :D

I want to see Darnell Dockett play a series at fullback. And I want to see the expression on some linebacker's face when DD pancakes him.

:yeahthat: And who's to say we wouldn't be 2-0 had Matt started? While Kurt's performance is fantastic, it doesn't make 2-0 anything more than 2-0...and I'm thrilled to be here.

At this point I don't care if Rackers is the QB, if he is contributing to us winning that's fine with me.

Skkorp - he wore a glove last season as well... And as far as protecting the ball... I guess there could be something to that. He's been sacked 5 times in the first two games which is not a good rate - and I believe it's slightly above last seasons' pace... So he's getting hit more this season and yet has not turned the ball over.
Still, I would rather associate the overall improvement of the TEAM to the numbers Kurt is putting up, versus guessing at changes Kurt might have made...

You really can't help parading your immaturity, can you?

I don't think I'd be speaking out of turn by saying that, all on this board are happy with the CARDS SUCCESS with Warner.
