Am I the only one that notices they still haven't updated the Cardinals logo everywhere in the game? When you kick a extra point, the Logo shown is the old one. Get with it, Madden! They probably figued no one would notice/care.

We are so the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL...

I am not surprised. Madden is the worst programmed game I have ever seen. It is horrible. Every year the game gets worse and worse. Adding things no one uses or cares about and taking away things people liked.

It is horrible that Madden is the only football game in town because it is almost unplayable. Thus leaving the masses without a good football game to play.

EA should be ashamed of letting something like this game go out to the public. If I worked on the game I would want my name off the credits.

As long as people buy the game the change will be minor.

The best days were when they were competing with 2k and they were learning from each other.

Unless the NFL opts out of this one too, expect mediocrity to rein.

Madden is a bad game. I'm sick of shelling out 60 dollars for updated rosters. The game doesn't even have a field goal net. I mean, come on!

Video games are dumb anyway. If you want to do something constructive and have a hobby that takes actual talent try learning to play a musical instrument.

Don't kill the messenger.

Agreed. Guitar hero is still a mystery......just learn the guitar! It is not that hard.

The fact I can play a guitar and not that video game creeps me out.

What was the last real good Madden game, 03 (Faulk) possibly 02 (Culpepper)?

I didn't mind '06 (McNabb). At LEAST that kept the records, and stats for your game.

I couldn't have been more shocked then when I looked for my season stats for my 20 year franchise, only to find out they "forgot" to have a menu to look over your career stats. REALLY?

Build your own play book, and use it in any aspect of the game ? GONE.

Keep track of your seasonal/game records ? GONE.

A franchise mode that doesn't freeze up every other season ? GONE.

A franshice mode that has a salary cap that makes sense? GONE.

Online play that could let you play Madden against other people ? GONE AND NEVER WAS!

** Online play is ridiculous. 99% of the time you have someone with some stupid cheat that makes it a waste of time. I don't care about winning or losing but doing the same thing over and over is boring plus it doesn't make for much of a game when guys are 10 yards offsides before every play.

Dreamcastrocks is going to kill us Rugby. he he he

I hate Madden, so you guys at least have an audience.

I enjoy the Guitar Hero/Rock Band games. I don't know if I'd ever want to learn to play the guitar. Drums maybe.

I don't know...maybe there's something to that...I've been playing piano since I was 4 (41 years), trombone since I was 9 (36 years) and have been playing professionally since I was 14 - and have never understood the appeal of video games. Sure - we had the first Pong game when it first came out, and the first Atari games, but I never got into them. Then in college, a lot of my friends (admittedly, most were musicians as well since I was in music school) were playing Asteroids and Missle Command obsessively, and I just stood there shaking my head wondering what it was that I was missing. Could it be somewhat the makeup of musicians? I don't know.

I think I played Windows Solitaire about a year (or even two) ago. That was probably the last video game I've played.

I'm not judging - to each his own I guess. I certainly have my own obsessions that 99.9% of the general population would deem pointless (!).

I had Xbox online for one year and it was horrible. Maybe it was just the way I had my system set up but I'd have to unplug my computer to keep the game from locking up and the game speed was never the same regardless of what I tried.

Well there is another football game coming out called "Backbreaker". Granted it doesn't have real football players and it set in the future. It still plays like a football game and could be better than madden.

ESPN was the best NFL football game going for Xbox 360. It's about 3 years old now. I still prefer that to the new Madden. Had ESPN kept their game going they would have outsold madden in ten years. Unfortunately Madden saw the competition and bought them out.

Your are right, we are the Dangerfield of the NFL....NO RESPECT.

Even some web sites have the Cards old logo...and they think we'll take them serious. As soon as I see the old logo I disregard the story.

plastic dolls are close to the real thing...but I want the real thing. :)

Madden fails at trying to be the real deal.

do you watch tv or movies? hold a controller and be the main charector.

That is why people play video games. Its not that far out there of a concept.

Do I watch TV or movies? Condescending much? :p

No, I think the main issue here is that I have way too many other things that take up my time...playing video games is just not something that I have any interest in spending any time doing.

I agree and I am not trying to be condensending at all, I am just replying to your statement that you do not understand why people play video games. They are taking a movie or a show and putting it in your hands and letting you control it. I always thought that was the most lamence way of putting it. To each his own as with everything, my life gets too busy for my games all the time but when im relaxin in the house with nothing but chors to do a video game is always nice. I for one never really watch tv or movies is I believe it is wasted time that I could be playing a video game ; )

OK - I think I get it. You would rather be actually doing something rather than just sitting there staring at the TV. I think I understand that. Personally, I like a lot of TV shows, and enjoy the heck out of movies (audio/video stuff is another one of my hobbies), and I do spend time just starin' at the Box.

I'm with ya.

I've bought every madden game from Madden 92 to madden 07, except for 94. I didn't buy 2008..it might have been better than 07, but not by much. The demo was alright, but nothing spectacular.

The pc version was the best since you could do more with it, download 3rd party rosters, use a mouse instead of a controller while messing around with the franchise, etc. Problem is, they decided to can the pc version from what I understand, unless they changed directions the last couple of months.

It is complete nonsense that you can have the only game in town, and not put it on pc.

I remember playing 99-06 version on the pc. The 99 to 2004 version on my 400mhz computer. Starting with an 8mb ati rage something and later a 64mb geforce 2 sdr.

Sure it said you couldn't play it based on specs in 02-04 (stating minimum 450 to 800 mhz requirements depending on the year), but you could and get a pretty good frame rate. Even when I got my then new computer I loaded 05 on my old computer to see if it worked, and it did.

Since the 05 version, little has changed graphics wise. Seems like the graphics have only gotten a tad better.

So you got a game series that in 10 versions barely passes the limits of a computer made 10 1/2 years ago and a video card that's 8-9 years old.

They couldn't get it past 30 fps on the ps3, and only in their 3rd year got it at 60 fps for the xbox 360.

It's like every 3-4 years they upgrade the game with a decent jump, but still not by much.

I won't say I hate madden, because I"ve had a lot of fun, but just like others said it definitely feels like they just update the rosters, change the music, and menu colors/layout, change some saying.. meanwhile recycling some of the same maddenisms for almost 10 years. Not worth the 60 bucks.

Maybe I'll buy 2010 version, that'll be 3 versions since the 2007 one, maybe by then it'll be enough of a jump to buy it.

Of course it the cards can ever say go 12-4 and have a 90 rating as a team I'll buy that game just so I can for once have a madden game with actual non-created, altered, traded, drafted in later years.

I used to play the piano, 4-5 years old, best in my yamaha class, picked it up real easy. But it just got boring. Meanwhile I had an Apple II around then my older siblings used before they left the nest. I was hooked. Taught myself using the apple II books, even made a little pizza ordering program in 3rd grade lol. Had some bugs, but hey, what can you expect.

Catalog
Run wavynavy
brun loderunner
or whatever, fun times

Then came nintendo, and you didn't have to type in anything...even easier, and quicker.

Don't play the piano, still can read the music, and know the corresponding keys on the piano, but it doesn't interest me much.

Yet I'll rack up kills on Halo 3, GRAW II, Rainbow Six Vegas II, UT3, Resistance fall of man, etc, etc, etc

The simplicity of the old games, the in-depth 3d graphics of the new ones. Continual improvement, new maps having different layouts always keeps it fresh. Each game is a unique experience for the most part, but although there are billions or trillions of combos a piano's music can provide, it seems like the same old thing. Nothing wrong with that at all, just I chose to like video games over the piano. The addition of playing mp games over the last few years over high speed internet has added a great amount of replay-ability of games. I don't have a wii, but that upped the notch as well too. You never know quite what to expect, or where the industry will take you, but you know you are in for a hell of a ride, and things will come out and surprise you every few years.

So back to madden, when a game doesn't do that really, or seems to get better at a snails pace when the rest of the industry is like a rabbit, it's easy to see why people turn away from it en masse.

Last thing I want is to have EA buy out rockstar. You could bet gta v, vi, vii over the next 10 years would be mirror images of GTA IV. Make your own shoddy games, and leave people that try to push the envelope alone. We don't need their suckiness infecting the rest of the gaming industry.

Sad too because EA came out with some of the best games of the 80's.

LSL was a great game, I loved answering the questions to be 18 when I was like 11 lol. They have one on the pc, and are making another one for release sometime in the next few months or year. It's 3d now so some of the original charm is gone, but it's still pretty good.
