Hey mods and posters of the 'Yotes forum, this avid Cards and Pens fan, who just came into this hockey forum, would like to thank you guys for not complaining about Pens talk. To be considerate, since it only seems to be Rugby and I, I figured I'd start one thread dedicated to the Pens, so we don't clog up your forum with multiple threads. If you can merge the Hossa thread with this one, Mods, I'd appreciate it. Thanks again! Let's go Pens! Beat 'em like a rented mule!

Good idea.

But first, I apologize to any Coyotes fans that hate the Penguins. You may come in here and rip us a new one any time you want since we are technically squatting.

First order of business.

I don't know much hockey but I know I am happy to see Sid the Kid again!

I guess the buz with the Penguins was the trade for Hossa.

It seemed we gave up a lot for the guy. But word on the street and according to Stout the guy is a stud.

I will miss Armstrong. I know he seemed to have the Happy Gilmore syndrome of powerful shot and no aim but he was a scrapper to say the least.

and it seemed (once again I am a fish out of water here) that Christenson was a pretty good prospect.

We gave up a lot, sure, but look at what we gave up. A prospect, a 1st rounder, and Armstrong. Armstrong is nice to have, but with Sid, Malkin, and Staal, he was a 4th-line center. He's too expensive to keep in such a capacity and needs a chance to shine elsewhere. As for the rest, well, it's all unproven. On top of one of the best wingers in the game, we also received Dupuis, who is a nice veteran bit of icing (only if they touch it up ;) ) on the cake.

'Atta boy, Pens! Way to get it done! I now absolutely hate Ovechkin. Seems like he tried to go headhunting for Malkin in this game, and I found out Ovechkin hates him so bad, he actually punched Malkin's agent back in Russia. Here's a good old up-yours scoreline for ya, Alex!

Man, the refs were absolutely awful in this game too. I think they were secretly Caps players acting as refs. Ovechkin skates on as an extra skater well before the line change, and the refs simply let it slide. All of a sudden, at the end of the game, just when we're pressing for the winner, they call too many men on the ice on us. So, it's okay for you to do it if you're Washington? Maybe it's only okay for Ovechkin? Well, guess what, refs? Guess what, Caps? Guess what, Miss Alexis? 4-2 baby, THAT'S what!

Yeah, that was a very entertaining game.

Thank you Mr. Backstrom! Ha!

Yeah, the Malkin vs. Ovechkin thing has been going on for a while. Malkin really cracked him the game before last game.

Good win!

All right Pens! Good win! Worried about Crosby, though, and wondering when we'll get to see Hossa. He'd better not be a rental player!

Ot Official Pittsburgj Penguins Thread

Let's Not Worry About Crosby. They Did Fine Without Him And He Needs To Be 100 Per Cent For The Playoffs. I Love The Kid But Have Only One Beef About Him. He Beat Out Nash As Canada's Male Athlete Of The Year Last Year. Sid Was Great, But C'mon, His Selection Was Based More On The Prominence Of Hockey Than On Athletic Skills. Every Hockey Scout In North America Has Followed Sid The Kid's Progress Since He Was 10. Nobody Knew Nash. He Couldn't Even Get An American University To Answer His Request For A Tryout Until His Friend And Mentor Almost Strangled A Coach In Santa Nowhere To Give Him A Look. And He Proceeded To Knock Jason Kidd And Arizona Out Of March Madness. But It's The Fact That This Nobody Kid Is Playing (and Starring} In A League Of Men Twice His Size That Should Have Garnered Him Our Top Athlete. I Love Sid, That Should Be Obvious By My Name--and He Shud Have Been Part Of Team Canada Last Olympics, But He Isn't A Nash Yet.

Yes, that is all that needs to be said about the butt whoopin' that the Penguins will receive at the hands of the Rangers tomorrow. :D

Montreal is bringing the cup home!

 Huge Habs fan here.

Would love it if Crosby had been drafted by his childhood favorite in Montreal, but it's nice to see the Pens back in action. I really hated the thought of them moving. Montreal did pretty well in that draft, too, though. Could Price be the next Dryden/Roy? Sure hope so.

Partner in crime!:notworthy

I just hope Price can perform during the playoffs. Thats all I'm worried about at the moment.

Ugh. Shut up, Assface. Down 0-2 after one :(

Ugh. 5-2 final. I guess I should be happy I was at rugby practice and missed the game.

:ais: and he should play "Say Anything" to celebrate his victory.
