eh, i feel bad for bynum, but won't cry for the lakers for their injuries. at least most of their injuries are during the season. if they want to talk about injuries, lets talk about them occurring during the playoffs when you're a legit contender.

also, this is a lakers team that is the huge beneficiary of the jazz being magnanimous enough to let fisher outta his contract. remember, that was not some savvy move on the part of the lakers, that was pure luck (and i cringe to say that considering that it was fish's daughter's bad luck) that lead fish back to the lakers. in fact, if his daughter is in the free and clear i think the lakers, fish, jazz, and nba should really all agree that fish return to the jazz and play out that contract. it doesn't seem right that a team (in this case the lakers) get to benefit due to fish's daughter's illness. wouldn't it just suck if the lakers knocked the jazz outta the playoffs and fish played a big role in it? if i was fish i'd have to really look in the mirror - ah, i guess that's ridiculous considering he really did it for his daughter - but i guess i find myself conflicted with all this, and did at the time he signed with the lakers as well. glad that his daughter is recovering though.

This stream of consciousness post echoes my sentiments exactly. It is what it is I guess...

You missed it, NOW doesnt matter to the suns after their playoff struggles. I wonder how much "now" matters to the spurs who sit players with minor injuries(manus finger hurt, tony sore ankle) as they lose 8 of the past 14 games. After watching the Mavs fold last year, I doubt many of the NBA contenders are worried about their regular season winning pct. Heck the celtics have now lost to the wiz and bobcats while scorching the rims for 81ppg in those two contests. Something tells me that even the celtics struggle to get motivated about the bloated schedule that is the 82 game NBA season, and its only nearing the halfway point.

There is plenty of time for bynum to come back and be a force in the postseason. The lakers are way better off than it seemed they were at the beginning of the season. Kobe is playing with team mindset, uhh oh! I hope that they knock off the Mavs or the spurs so the suns wont have to face both of them. But be careful what you wish for, the west is loaded with teams capable of knocking somebody off. The warriors have beaten the spurs 2x this year(in two tries), and they are tough for the suns.

The suns just need to get everyone healthy and find guys minutes to get used to each other. When I heard hill had an appendectomy, I momentarily thought it might be faked, to just sit him down for awhile. Its silly, they didnt fake it, but its the perfect situation to get some of the other guys playing time while resting hill. Old guys like Hill, Horry, even PJ Brown dont want to really play 82 games or even 50 games, they are ready with 30-40 games. Now, the young guys and Diaw will get some quality PT. I think Diaw needs to run the offense to get involved, and with Hill out, he will be in there running it when Nash sits, as in the past. If suns fans would just relax a little it would be easier, but every loss is an indication form nostradomus that the suns are doomed.

Come april, we shall see, but until then I am just hoping that the suns can play straw, tucker, banks and skinner a bit more than they have to get them into the system.

Why, it's not like they have a rivalry or anything.

Correct.. And the the reason Stern has wood is because he wants an all foreign NBA Finals.. The NBA is going to the crapper with Stern trying to appease all the foreign fans..

I won't be shedding any tears for Bynum or Laker fans, but you hate seeing talented players going down to injury, especially a knee injury on a big kid like Bynum. Donald how are you handling this?

In a weird way, this kinda sucks for the Suns too. If they beat the Lakers this week, people will say "Yeah, but Bynum was hurt". And if they still lose....well let's not go there.

I hate the Lakers, but I wouldn't wish injury on anyone. I hope he gets well soon so we can beat them again in the playoffs at full strength.

even playoffs... you can tell Phil Jackson has what it takes to outcoach D'Antoni. Odom has a blast.. Kobe... now if Bynum didnt get injured he would put up huge stats in a series too.. Lakers threw big players inside and it actually challenged the Suns... with Bynum who can put up 20/10... Lakers can and will beat the Suns, if D'Antoni coached the way he does.

Is it just me or is the knee the goofiest joint in the entire body?

Two bones resting on top of each other, supporting your body's entire weight, connected to one another by tendons...

It's like it was designed to fall apart if you do something more intense than walking.

Doubt anyone is going to fear the Lakers, now that Bynum has shown he isn't useless he is gonna get what most big guys get, double teams and is gonna have a much harder time. Its funny how when a player isn't known or respected he can go off for awhile, now teams have seen him and are gonna game plan for him. Think he will come back to earth a little. Still I don't see any of the top seeds in the west fearing the lakers, they are playing over their head not gonna last all season.

You couldn't be more wrong. The Lakers would LOVE for people to start doubling Bynum because then our other shooters can start torching people. If you really don't see any top seeds fearing the Lakers then I don't really think you pay that much attention to basketball. Bottom line is, the Lakers are currently tied with Phoenix for the best record in the NBA and own a 2-0 tie breaker over them. So you think it's a fluke for the Lakers and legit for the Suns? That's a very comical and biased view. I'm not saying the Lakers are going to win the title, I honestly have no idea who's going to take home the rings this year, but to just count the Lakers out is foolish.

Bynum will be back, and the Lakers will continue to compete at a high level. Right now, I rank them on even keel with the Suns, and the Spurs as the top 3 in the West. I could easily see either of those 3 going all the way. Try putting your bias aside and looking at it objectively. The Lakers are a good team.

lakers as good as they have been... IS NOT top 3.. they are worse than their record shows.

Top 5 yes... The west standings is still unstable.... but Mavs and Jazz still better or on par with lakers.

heck Blazers are only a few games behind Lakers... you dont say they are top 5... but the way they are playing... they will be soon.

Dude, they have had the hardest schedule in the league, have the top record in the division and top three in the west, and have simply been DESTROYING teams, bad and good. They dropped a whopper on New Orleans on the road last week.

Without Bynum, they will falter quite a bit, but this is a deep, talented team.

There is a reason they are ranked high in Hollinger's stupid stats...tough schedule and sick margins of victory.

They are NOT worse than their record shows. They are exactly what their record shows.

Bynum already has been doubled...and he is a SICK passer.

As a passer, he's as good or better than Shaq and he was extremely underrated. Honestly, its one of the areas in his game that I was shocked to see him be so good at, so early. He has an instinctive feel for the people around him.

Double him...please. I dare you. The few times he's been doubled have resulted in easy scores.

OMG. Here we go. Bynum is the next savior of the Lakers. Let's see the Lakers get out of the first round (despite what happens in the regular season) before you Laker fans get your heads too inflated.

Bynum has definitely improved. This is the best I have seen him and more of what I expected from this guy. However, he hasn't done it for a full season yet and he still has alot to improve. I would be exited from that standpoint but lets not mention him and Shaq in the same breath.

So are you saying that "they are who you thought they were"?

No, they are significantly better than I thought they would be, thanks to Bynum and Farmar's unreal improvement.

I am also not saying "Crown their ass."

Oh good lord...make one comparison and people fly off the handle. Did I say he was Shaq? Did I? I said he was as good of a passer, or better than Shaq. And he is. You know what else he kills Shaq at? Free throws. He is a billion times better at FT shooting than the Big Chucker. I guess you'll take that to mean I think he's ten times the player Shaq is now.

Oh, and if you want to play that game, let's see the suns win a title before you Suns fans get your heads too inflated.

LMAO. 1.7 assists per game makes Bynum light years better then Shaqs 1.4??? Come on. You won't get any argument from me about his FT shooting.

The season is far from over and I am quick to point out our teams deficiencies this year. It's a far cry from what I am reading from some of you Laker fans. :doi:
