And send your letters to Rod Graves and the Cardinal brass saying it over and over till it sinks in..

Nmamdi Asomugha.

He's a free agent to be and the SECOND he hits the open market, Arizona should offer him the moon.

This guy's a shutdown corner in the truest sense of the word and is gonna come cheaper than Samuels. Get him and don't regret the decision later.

Also, surprisingly (in a non related, non suggesting note), it appears Phillip Rivers can void his deal due to playing time incentives. Not even remotely suggesting Arizona should get him, just a piece of news I found interesting.

No, he's the #1 corner for da Raidas. He's pretty good. He was a late bloomer, just like a few have said Rolle might become.

The guy for the Rams did look good though. When he wasn't being abused of course.

Just so people know he isnt going to show up on any free agent list becuase he has a 2008 player option. He has already been reported as saying he will not take that player option so he will be a free agent.

Signing Asomugha would be a great move. Upgrading the #1 CB has to be a priority for us if want to become a dominant team.

Joe the option doesn't mean he'll actually reach UFA does it? Can't the Raiders still franchise him if they don't want to lose him.

I've pretty much assumed he won't be a FA but now I'm not sure.

I have resigned myself to "second tier" guys--

here is a name to consider, also from the Raiders: Tommy Kelly

3-4 DE type (6-6, 300 lbs) that has had decent pass rush skills. 26 years old. Hurt this year, so may fly under the radar.

Russ -- any insight?

I still want Drayton Florence from San Diego.

I also throughly believe that we could bring in Asante Samuels and Champ Bailey and we would still suck until we got a pass rush. I would like to see them address that first, and Corner second.

I think Florence might be the steal of the FA year. Just a hunch though.

Justin Fargas: He's an unrestricted free agent coming off his first 1,000-yard season.
Little used before last year, Fargas has plenty of life in his legs and carries above-average market value, though injury problems keep him off the Michael Turner tier.
Kiffin said he wants Fargas back, but admits the team's zone-block run game makes it easier to plug plenty of backs in there. Dominic Rhodes' back-to-back 100-yard starts could have made Fargas expendable if the price tag gets too high.

Hmmmmm...... Fargas might be a guy Wiz likes.

Also, Berrian is going to be a free agent? He might be the deep threat we are looking for.

Thoughts??

Fargas is very fast, an upgrade over JJ and Shipp and could push Edge for playin time. I wouldn't mind seeing him come here, ESPECIALLY if the Cardinal staff is really considering cutting ties with Edge, which I don't believe they are.

Berrian will want to much money, nor will he want to be a 3wr. We should be able to fill BJ's spot without much trouble.

Raiders have said they will franchise him.

Even if they don't, he would be overpriced. I am 100% convinced that you have to draft your own corners. And I really like Asomugha too.

Yes, yes, good man. You are a wise scholar.

Normally I'd agree but it's not often you have corners like this available. Samuels, Asomugha and Florence are all top notch corners and all under 25. It looks like Asomugha will be tagged but Asante will be available and NE has Randy Moss and a top 5 pick to sign. I think we should go after Florence and try to get him signed to a good deal right away while the other teams are fighting over the more expensive samuels. IF we can't get one of those three I'd rather look to the draft instead of the other available free agents. Signing free agents just for the sake of bringing guys in is as bad as drafted for need instead of bpa.

Fargas was one of the league's leading rushers the 2nd half of the season, he's a guy a lot of coaches like. I was hoping we'd be able to bring him in but after what he showed I think he'll be expensive. With Oakland in position to be able to draft McFadden I don't know how hard they'll try to keep him.

Berrian is super fast and always a threat to take it all the way.....if he catches the ball. He gives up on routes and is only really good at getting deep. Someone is going to overpay for him, I'd rather it not be us.
