Actually, he had good hang time on that and the first guy down there missed the tackle. It was a good punt...40+ yards and the coverage whiffed the tackle.

Again, it was a crappy snap.
was the snap good when he punted the ball 50 yrds to the 25 yard line? or was it nfl.com's gamecast put the wrong yardage?

It was 41 yards, which I'll say is average.

But, hey, I'm glad Player is finally replaced. I'm hope this guy brings it in the regular season when we really need it. And, maybe we can actually add fake punts and FGs back into the equation. That's been out of the question for about a decade.

FWIW -- The Patriots put in a waiver claim for Barr--

given their personnel expertise, I will take that as an endorsement

The one downside is that I thought he had a couple come close to getting blocked. Not sure if that is him or the blocking.

No..none of the snaps were good. All of them were about 8 inches low, causing him to lean down slightly to grab it, and of course that threw off his rythm. And I think the yardage was wrong on that one. I think it was a 42 yarder.

I again will put that on the snap. They were all low and yes, they seemed close to getting blocked, as he had to adjust his rythm to kick the ball.

I chalk it up to new guy, old snapper. They'll iron that out.

im kinda surpised that the snaps are that low..hes not that much taller than Player..he's 6'3 and Player was 6'1..the reason why i ask about the yardage because Urban said Barr's first punt was 50 yards and it said it on nfl.coms gamecast

Maybe he catches the ball higher? I can only saw what I saw.

It may have been 50, but I could have sworn it was 42...it was his first punt so I was paying attention. Maybe the announcers said that.

I will say he certainly is much more of an athelete than Player is.

40yearfan,
I coudln't agree more. Living in NJ i didnt see the game but im beginning to think Barr can bring not only a stronger leg to the punting game but also a better athlete (like Rackers) who- if needed- can make a decent effort in trying to tackle the returner. In the pictures I have seen of him so far he looks pretty muscular for a punter!

Go Cards/ America!

Barr is a big man.

Also, sounds like he's going to be the holder. Rackers indicated that's the direction they're leaning, and I think he held all of the kicks in Denver.
