The best golfer in the world is coming to Blaine this summer.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has committed to the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities, the tournament announced Monday.
Minnesota’s PGA Tour event has struggled to attract big names in recent years, largely because of its spot on the schedule. The 3M Open is played the week following The Open championship every year.
But Scheffler, a three-time major champion who’s finished as the runner-up in each of his last three starts, said he’s “looking forward” to making his debut at the event.
“I’m looking forward to playing the 3M Open for the first time,” Scheffler said in a statement. “I’ve heard great things about the event and I’m excited to get to Minnesota and compete at TPC Twin Cities.”
This year’s 3M Open will be played from July 23-26.
