Without the likes of Nick Boyd and John Blackwell, it's going to be interesting to see how the Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team looks in 2026-27.
Longtime head coach Greg Gard is back, and he's brought in a few stellar transfers along with some top international talent.
This starting lineup is going to look very different, and Gard is now expecting a ton of new role players to step up in a reserved role.
Recently, ESPN's Myron Medcalf gave each Big Ten team a ceiling and floor heading into the 2026-27 season.
When it comes to the Badgers' ceiling, Medcalf believes this team has Sweet 16 potential. He knows it's far too early to commit one way or another, but Medcalf is interested to see how Owen Foxwell fares, and he's excited to see Nolan Winter return for his fourth season.
In this scenario, Wisconsin would end the year with 26 wins and finish fourth in the Big Ten. Remember, this is a team that is coming off another early tournament exit, and for what it's worth, they only had 24 wins in 2025-26, so that's extremely generous of Medcalf, but it's called a ceiling for a reason.
