Wisconsin basketball signed Tulsa transfer guard Braeden Carrington on Thursday, as first reported by 247Sports' Matt Zenitz.
Carrington joins the Badgers after one season at Tulsa. He played a leading role during the campaign, starting 19 of 29 contests and averaging 26.8 minutes, 7.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Those tallies included shooting rates of 35% from the field and 33% from 3.
The 6-foot-4 guard joined the Golden Hurricanes last offseason after beginning his career at Big Ten rival Minnesota. He originally joined the Gophers as a three-star recruit in the class of 2022, ranked as the No. 226 overall player in the class, No. 32 shooting guard and No. 8 recruit from the Gopher State.
Carrington played a depth role during his two years with the Golden Gophers. He averaged 20 minutes, 5.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists as a true freshman in 2022-23, then 21 minutes, 4.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists as a sophomore in 2023-24. That freshman campaign included a strong game against Wisconsin to close the regular season: 21 minutes, 11 points, eight rebounds and two assists on 3-of-4 shooting and 1-of-2 from 3.
The Minneapolis, Minnesota, native now joins the Badgers with a final year of eligibility remaining.
Carrington is Wisconsin's fourth transfer addition of the offseason, following Virginia wing Andrew Rohde, Portland forward Austin Rapp and San Diego State guard Nick Boyd. His addition also follows Wisconsin landing Lithuanian forward Aleksas Bieliauskas on Thursday.
Both Carrington and Bieliauskas project as primary depth contributors on the 2025-26 Badgers. The former Tulsa and Minnesota guard specifically slots in next to Jack Janicki as a primary backup guard. Given his major-conference experience, it would be no surprise if Carrington emerges to claim the sixth-man role held by Kamari McGee through each of the last two seasons.
