Wimbledon 2026 is completed.
After weeks of tennis at arguably the most elite location in the world, it feels like a letdown that we have to wait over 340 days until next year’s event.
Here are the surprising storylines from this year’s Wimbledon Championships.
Serena Williams return to professional tennis did not turn out as she hoped, but that did not stop the world from watching her singles match against Maya Joint to see what her level was after four years away and at 44 years of age.
Maya Joint played the match of her life against Serena but subsequently lost in the next round.

The French Open headlines were dominated by the crippling heat. Thankfully, the heat wave hit Wimbledon the week before main draw play began.
There was also no rain during the two weeks of play.
We cannot wait to see footage from the Wimbledon Ball to see this year’s singles champions, Noskova and Sinner, dancing with each other, per tradition.

Juniors were followed a bit closer this year as Lleyton Hewitt’s son Cruz Hewitt was in the final.
He lost to American wildcard Jordan Lee in three sets, but Aussie fans are hopeful that his time is coming.
