The Boston Celtics will begin their Eastern Conference Semifinals match-up against the New York Knicks on Monday, May 5. New York is coming off a seven-game slobberknocker against the Detroit Pistons. The Celtics, on the other hand, have enjoyed a significant period of rest, having defeated the Orlando Magic in five games.

Boston will undoubtedly feel confident about their upcoming series. During the regular season, Joe Mazzulla's team secured a sweep of its games against the Knicks. Not only did Boston win every meeting, but it dominated on both sides of the ball. As such, Tom Thibodeau's team must prove it's capable of going toe-to-toe with the reigning champions.

During a recent episode of the "Celtics Beat" podcast, hosts Adam Kaufman and Evan Valenti were joined by Brian Barrett of The Ringer. The trio discussed the upcoming series between Boston and New York, before claiming that the Knicks will be an easier opponent than the Magic, who left the Celtics battered and bruised after a physical series.
