The Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies are scheduled to conclude their three-game series at Fenway Park on Thursday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:45 pm ET.

However, the weather forecast doesn't look good for tonight's game. It's been raining in Boston this afternoon and is expected to rain throughout the evening, perhaps until 8 p.m. ET or beyond.

That puts the status of tonight's game in jeopardy, creating a high likelihood that the game is either delayed or postponed.

If the game is postponed, it would have to be made up at a later date on a mutual off day for the two teams, as they both have road games on Friday.

With this being the Phillies last scheduled trip to Boston tonight, the decision on when or if to call the game is in the hands of MLB, not the Red Sox.

Normally, Red Sox officials would decide whether to play the game or not. Given that this is Philadelphia's only scheduled trip to Boston this year, however, it's MLB's call, as the Phillies would have to make a separate trip to Boston for a potential makeup game.

The Red Sox recently postponed Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays minutes before first pitch, putting fans in a tough spot. They may be in a similar bind tonight depending on how long MLB waits to make its decision.

Until then, all fans can do is monitor the weather and wait to see what the league decides.

If the game does happen, Boston will go for the series win tonight behind Ranger Suarez, who's slated to face his former team for the first time since signing with the Red Sox over the offseason.
