The Iowa State Cyclones punched a ticket to earn a placement in the Sweet 16 despite star forward Joshua Jefferson getting injured in the first game.

Despite not having him against Kentucky on Sunday due to a sprained left ankle, the Cyclones still won the game and advanced to play Tennessee. He got an MRI on Monday, which reportedly revealed no structural damage to the ankle. Iowa State coach T.J. Otzelberger told reporters Jefferson is officially a "game-time decision" for the game against Tennessee.

The forward was seen practicing on Thursday without a boot on and shooting. He was not moving around much but did not have a visible limp.

Before the injury, Iowa State outscored opponents by an additional 21.8 points per 100 possessions when Jefferson was on the court compared to when he was not. That ranked third-best among all players in the Big 12.

For what it is worth, CBS injury expert Marty Jaramillo said that he would "expect" Jefferson to play.
