As the Alabama Crimson Tide prepare to face the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday night, the talk surrounding the college basketball world the last couple of days has centered around Charles Bediako.

A former Alabama basketball player, Bediako made headlines earlier this past week with the news that he was suing the NCAA in order to rejoin the Crimson Tide, a move that has since sent shockwaves across the sport. Bediako was also granted a temporary restraining order, making the former Alabama standout immediately eligible for Saturday's game vs. Tennessee.

However, the question still remains, will Bediako in fact play for Alabama on Saturday against Tennessee, and if so, how much?

Alabama head coach Nate Oats spoke the media Friday during his press conference ahead of the Tennessee game, answering that question whilst doing so.

"We are planning to play him," Oats said. "He's eligible to play. We're going to follow the court orders."

Bediako played two seasons for the Crimson Tide back in 2021-22 and 2022-23, averaging a combined 6.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game on 67.3% shooting from the field. A center, Bediako also started 67-of-70 games those two seasons, and was a 2022-23 SEC All-Defense selection.

Following his sophomore season, Bediako declared for the 2023 NBA draft where he would go undrafted. Since, the center has spent the last three seasons in the NBA G League.

The Crimson Tide and Volunteers are set to meet this Saturday, Jan. 24, inside of Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
