Mack Hollins has a peculiar choice for his go-to footwear: nothing at all.
That's right. The New England Patriots wide receiver has chosen to be barefoot over the last few years, and he has a fascinating explanation for it.
Hollins says he met some men from Australia who showed him the benefits of Melbourne Muscular Therapy, which encourages walking barefoot as part of "holistic grounding exercises." According to Hollins, it helps with improving the flexibility and dexterity of his feet.
"It has been great for me," Hollins said back in 2023, per NBC. "I think it's fun because everyone should be barefoot. You don't see people walking around in mittens."
Hollins, 32, is enjoying one of the best seasons of his career. The former North Carolina star caught 46 passes for 550 yards in his first year as a Patriot, helping Drake Maye ascend to an MVP candidate.
But no matter how well Hollins plays, the conversation around him inevitably turns to his choice to be barefoot. He has a counter ready to go for whoever questions it.
"It's so funny that people look at me like that because shoes are definitely dirtier than feet," Hollins told NBC. "Because I wash my feet all the time. When's the last time you washed the bottom of your shoe?"
It's not the worst argument!
