The Buffalo Sabres will have to look elsewhere for a major splash ahead of the 2026 NHL trade deadline.
A huge trade involving St. Louis Blues star defenseman Colton Parayko reportedly fell through because the latter involved his no-trade clause ahead of a deal.
That means Parayko will stay in St. Louis for now, and Buffalo won't get the ace defender. That's a tough break for the Sabres, as Parayko would have been a sick addition to their defense.
There's still time for Buffalo to swing another trade, but Parayko seems destined to stay with the Blues after the deadline.
Bummer news for Sabres fans.
