The back half of the MLB season kicks off on Friday, but before the Los Angeles Dodgers resume their pursuit of a three-peat, we here at Dodgers Nation have been looking back over the first half of the 2026 campaign.
The Boys in Blue have the best record in baseball at 61-36 and an 11.5 game lead in the National League West.
There have been plenty of great moments so far, but if you had to pick one player as the team’s MVP so far, who would you pick?
We put that question to you, the fans, and presented a few options to consider: Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Andy Pages and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Here’s what you had to say.
Shohei Ohtani
As you’d expect, the two-way superstar got plenty of love from Dodgers fans.
“Who’s the leading candidate for MVP of the League? Yeah… this shouldn’t even be a question,” wrote @thecollector_51.

“Easily Ohtani. MVP. There is no other answer. He is the top performer in the whole league,” wrote @baseball_cards_guy.
“No question Ohtani with what he’s done at the plate and on the mound,” added @onthehillvintage.
It’s a notion Dodgers Nation’s Doug McKain echoed.
“Team MVP, the only right answer is Shohei Ohtani,” he said. “Dude is going to be MVPE — most valuable player ever — barring injury.”
Shotime is certainly a very defensible answer, but many might be surprised by how many Dodgers fans had other ideas.
Freddie Freeman
Freeman, who has 103 hits, 15 homers and 49 RBIs this year, actually drew a relatively low amount of support, which is quite surprising for a future Hall of Famer with two World Series walk-off home runs and more than 2,500 career hits to his name.

“Forever Freddie!” wrote @devgranados.
Perhaps that’s just because fans expect greatness from Freeman, a notion that’s reinforced by our next nominee.
Andy Pages
Commenters were full of praise for the center fielder and first-time All-Star.
“Gotta say Pages with the comeback from last season. He’s put in the work,” wrote @samanthaamarie.

“Pages, hands down. He doesn’t get enough credit for what he brings to the team,” added @i_am_wonder_woman_.
“Pages has been outstanding!” said @__brandoncontreras.
Sure, Pages has plenty of supporters, but how could we discount the reigning World Series MVP?
Yoshinobu Yamamoto
In a rotation full of stud pitchers, Yamamoto still finds a way to stand out.

“Yamamoto….yall take him for granted!! He’s our ACE for a reason he’s been holding down our pitching now for two seasons,” wrote @uhhlyssaxo.
There were two other Dodgers, though, who we left off, and many of you were happy to let us know.
Other Dodgers
Another first-time All-Star, pitcher Justin Wrobleski, and veteran Max Muncy received plenty of love in the comments.
Shark emojis and gifs were everywhere in honor of Wrobleski’s new nickname from Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez.
“All of them, but also include Wrobleski on list,” wrote @jthom9999.

“How can honestly not have Wrobo in that picture?” wrote @rieth_ mike.
Similar questions were asked about Muncy.

“Where is Muncy?” said @d_bermudezs.
“How about MUNCY” added @mamabear111222.
“MAX MUNCY! you forgot to include his photo!” said @elisheva21.
Maybe this is just a case of having an embarrassment of riches, something @fabioaranha2 said best.
“I’m just glad we have all of them!”
