Mexico has advanced to the round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and will play either the Democratic Republic of the Congo or England on July 5 in Mexico City. Kickoff will be at 6 p.m. MT/7 p.m. CT.

El Tri is trying to reach the quarterfinals for the third time in its history, as it did it on home soil in 1970 and 1986.

Who does Mexico play next?​


Mexico plays the winner of Wednesday's match between England and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. That match kicks off at 10 a.m. MT/11 a.m. in Atlanta. England is ranked No. 4 in the world, and Congo is ranked 41.

England is a -350 favorite, a heavy favorite.
