Yeah cause Ted Washington only played there for over a decade, raking in fat pay check after fat paycheck.

Alan Branch was replaced by David Carter, and we saw ZERO drop off. None.

That is like a Green Bay Packer fan talking about how good Daryn Colledge is because he starts for us.

Clemons, Mebane, and Irvin, those are the reasons that defense is #2 if you want to talk about the Hawks' defensive line.

You are NOT going to sell me on Alan Branch and how he can't play NT. That is just ridiculous. The guy is made for it, and doesn't have the mental capacity for it, or the work ethic.

Would rather have a David Carter who is willing to put the work in, and learn both DE positions, and the NT position instead of some fat head who constantly talks about where he cannot play. Branch can't be that good if he has to be play one particular place, and one particular way.

Please list all the 6'6" 3-4 Nose Tackles starting in the NFL. That's just too tall for a NT. Only 2 that I know of are 6'4" and one is Terrance Cody who weighs 345lbs.

I don't care what you think about what Alan Branch did in Arizona. I never said Alan Branch was any good. You said he only had the mental tools to be a lifetime backup and he's started for two years for Seattle. Starter. Not a backup. So obviously he's not a lifetime backup.

No drop off from Alan Branch with David Carter at NT? Well of course not. Branch is a 4-3 DT or a 3-4 DE not a NT.

So a 6'6" guy can play DT in a 4-3 but not NT in a 3-4 ? That 1/2 a gap makes all the difference ? How many 6'6" DT's are there period ? Branch is a bustola, and the weak link on the Seattle line, IMO.

Branch sucks, and should have been a NT. That is my opinion and I am sticking to it.

Anyone wants to play apologist to the guys lack of versitility and work ethic go ahead.

OK I will. So guys can play for Seattle, who beat us 58-0 and will likely make the playoffs this season, with a poor work ethic and lack of versatility but not for the Cardinals who are one of the worst teams in the NFL? If Branch is so bad why haven't Clinton McDonald and Jaye Howard beaten him out?

A 4-3 Defensive Tackle is not tasked with holding up blockers like a 3-4 NT. At 6'6" a guys pad level is too high to effectively clog the middle unless he weighs 350lbs. So yes a 6'6" guy can play 4-3 DT and not 3-4 NT.

Still sucks

:D

PS - Did you just give Alan Branch credit for shutting out our offense? 11 popsickle sticks can shutout our offense......OUR offense can shutout themselves!

Yessir. You can go back and read my post where I wrote that Alan Branch single handed shut down our defense. You can also go back through this thread and read where I wrote that Alan Branch had All-NFL talent.

People say Whiz puts players in the dog house and never let's them out, he's a wanna be compared to Rugby. :)

I absolutely love the past 2 drafts for the Cards. The only blatant miss, and it's huge, is not getting a QB. I also understand why Whiz and company rolled the dice on Kolb and Bones but obviously that was a huge mistake so far.
