The NFL draft is a week away and the Houston Texans still remain a mystery on what will be the plan when they're on the clock at pick No. 28.
Knowing general manager Nick Caserio, following the "best player available" approach is likely the move. Now the good for Houston? The best players on the board are likely at the position the team plans on targeting for an immediate impact.
So, who are the most likely options on the board for Houston at No. 28? ESPN might have peeled back the curtain enough to give a glimpes on which prospect seem to be trending toward landing at the end of Round 1 rather than on Day 2.
Looking at ESPN Analytics chart for every pick, one prospect clearly stands out as the right fit and position that constantly lands in play at pick No. 28: Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods, perhaps the biggest anomaly of a pick in this year's class. ESPN believes that the former All-ACC defender has about a 6.7% chance to be drafted by the Texans in Round 1, but three other players also have roughly a 6.4% chance or to being the pick at No. 28 .
Here's the full list of players and their estimated odds based on ESPN's chart. The drop-off inside the top 10 is small, basically leaving space for little to no certainty on the status of each player landing inside the selection
