The Kentucky Wildcats were in an interesting position a few weeks ago.
While they did get commits from some dynamic guards in Alex Wilkins and Zoom Diallo, they largely lacked high-end playmaking. You could certainly argue they still do, but the return of Malachi Moreno was a massive first step for the program. Their second big jump, the signing of Iowa State forward Milan Momcilovic, really added to the case.
Now, it'll be on Mark Pope to figure out how to make this mess run like a smooth engine, and that could be easier said than done as well. Nonetheless, the roster is set, and they really have a little bit of everything.
Isaac Trotter, with most teams having finalized the bulk of their roster, did a way-too-early SEC basketball tiers list, and the Cats came in fifth and were ranked as a second-tier team, which suggests they are capable of being a top-25 team.
"Mark Pope was out to right some wrongs after last year's turbulence. He didn't have any true point guards after Jaland Lowe's season-ending injury, so he went and landed two of them from the portal in Alex Wilkins and Zoom Diallo. He didn't have enough shooting, so he went out and landed the best sniper in the country in Milan Momcilovic," Trotter wrote.
That was just a small excerpt of what Trotter wrote, and he left readers with a bold prediction. That bold prediction was written like this: "Kentucky's offense settles around a top-30 unit — not top-10 — because Kentucky rarely has the best guard on the floor against the top squads," Trotter ended his section on the Cats with.
The Cats have weapons on both ends of the court, and putting them all together could result in a national championship-caliber team.

Kentucky Roster Outlook
Milan Momcilovic completes Mark Pope's roster, an absolutely massive add. Kentucky should now be around a top-10 roster in the preseason according to https://t.co/cegyfz96ax.
Don't sleep on Malachi Moreno, he's could have a massive sophomore year for UK. pic.twitter.com/bPvwZmSGwK
