Heading into last offseason, the New York Giants had just one quarterback under contract, Tommy DeVito, and the future of the position was very much up in the air.

Then general manager Joe Schoen got to work. He signed veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston and traded up to snare Ole Miss star Jaxson Dart in the NFL draft.

Wilson lasted just a few games last year, giving way to Dart, and the future at quarterback was quickly answered. Dart displayed that he has the makings of a star.

So, where do the Giants' quarterbacks (Dart, Winston, and Brandon Allen) rank among the quarterback groups in the NFL? The analytics experts at Sharp Football have them ranked at No. 20 out of 32 teams, but almost everyone expects them to be better than that this year.

Jaxson Dart’s performance as a rookie saw the Giants move up seven spots in our QB rankings. Dart started 12 games as a rookie and scored 24 total touchdowns, 15 of which came through the air. However, his 6.7 yards per completion ranked ahead of just four quarterbacks with at least 300 pass attempts. Jameis Winston returns as the veteran backup after starting two games in 2025.

New head coach John Harbaugh has said that Dart has adjusted really well to the new offensive staff and scheme. The offense is now run by coordinator Matt Nagy with Brian Callahan as the quarterbacks coach and Greg Roman on board as the run-game coordinator.

Dart is coming off a season in which there was just as much concern for his safety as there was for his development. He played recklessly and failed to protect himself one too many times. He missed two games with a concussion and was checked on several other occasions. But when he shone, he shone brightly.

From RotoWire:

He finished QB13 in fantasy despite starting just 12 games, with unexpected rushing production bolstering his value. Ranking top three among QBs in both rushing yards (487) and TDs (9), the rookie was quick to run under pressure -- 10.1 percent scramble run rate (2nd) -- and didn't shy away from contact.

The Giants would like to get the best of both worlds out of him going forward. Dart himself said he won't change his style but would take caution when needed.

Dart could be without stud wideout Malik Nabers (knee) to start the season, but the Giants have added quite a few weapons this offseason in tight end Isaiah Likely and wide receivers Darnell Mooney, Calvin Austin III, rookie Malachi Fields, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Odell Beckham Jr.
