Walker III joined the Wake Forest Demon Deacons program and saw game-time early on, rushing for four touchdowns in 13 games in his freshman season. As a sophomore, Walker rushed for 13 touchdowns, and then transferred to Michigan State.

As a Spartan, Walker III immediately became one of the leading rushers in the nation, posting 1,636 yards as a junior with 18 touchdowns. He won the Doak Walker award as the top running back in college football.

Walker III was selected by the Seahawks with the 41st overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
