Wherever he goes, the camera always seems to follow George Kittle.
Whether it be at a hockey game, a WWE event, or even the Western Conference Finals, Kittle has become an enigma in the sporting world, one of the best tight ends in the NFL, and one of the biggest sports personalities today.
Like most talented stars in pop culture, sports, and beyond, the origin story often becomes just as intriguing.
So, where did Kittle get his start?
Originally born in Madison, Wisconsin, Kittle and his family moved to Iowa in 2000. There, he attended Iowa City West High School and Cedar Falls High School for the first two years of his high school career.
His family moved to Oklahoma ahead of Kittle's junior year, and he would spend his final two seasons playing at Norman High School. He developed into a do-it-all player who played receiver, tight end, defensive back and linebacker.
247Sports ranked Kittle as a two-star prospect for the 2027 class, the No. 235 receiver in the 2012 class and the No. 20 player out of Oklahoma. He finished his senior season with just over 300 yards receiving and five touchdowns before committing to Iowa in February of the next year.
It wasn't until Kittle's junior year at Iowa that he started to gain some notoriety on the national scene. That year, he scored six times, and the following year had four more, finishing his college career with 48 receptions for 737 yards and 10 touchdowns.
San Francisco selected Kittle in the fifth round with the 146th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. After an up-and-down rookie year, Kittle had over 1,300 receiving yards in 2018, establishing himself as one of the best tight ends in the NFL.
The 2026 season marks Kittle's ninth in the NFL, but he is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon suffered during the 49ers' wild card win over Philadelphia.
