We know that the Jacksonville Jaguars hold the 5th overall pick on Day 1 of the 2025 NFL draft, but at what time will they be making that selection?

Well, while not an exact science, we can look back at the 2024 NFL draft and when the 5th pick was announced that year.

On X, the official NFL account posted that the LA Chargers selected Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt at 8:47 PM ET.

This at least gives us an idea of when the Jaguars will be picking, but who they'll be picking seems to be a whole different story.

One NFL executive would tell ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Jaguars and what they do with that fifth pick is are considered a "wild card."

Schefter would also mention the Jaguars as one of a few teams who are "interested" in trading back, while Ian Rapoport discussed the possibility of the Jaguars trading up to pick No. 2.

One thing that does seem to be agreed upon is that if the Jaguars do stay put at pick No. 5, the new consensus seems to be that they will be addressing the offensive side of the ball with that selection.
