The Brooklyn Nets came into this offseason with the goal of improving the roster as much as possible following a 20-62 record during a disappointing 2025-26 campaign. Brooklyn used the No. 6 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft on guard Mikel Brown Jr. to hopefully be the point guard of the future, but what other moves have the Nets made heading into Day 3 of NBA free-agency?

To begin, the Nets opened their offseason by re-signing forward Josh Minott, center Day'Ron Sharpe, exercising the team option on guard Malachi Smith's contract, and re-signing forward Chaney Johnson to a Two-Way deal. More to the point, Brooklyn also reportedly signed Cleveland Cavaliers guard Keon Ellis and Orlando Magic forward Mo Wagner in free-agency while adding Minnesota Timberwolves forward Julius Randle via trade.

On the other side, the Nets traded center Nic Claxton to the Chicago Bulls in the three-team deal that brought Randle and the No. 28 pick, which Brooklyn used to select Iowa State forward Joshua Jefferson, to the Nets. Brooklyn also declined to exercise forward Ziaire Williams' $6.25 million team option while also declining to extend a qualifying offer (QO) to guard Ochai Agbaji and forward Jalen Wilson.

The Nets are likely not done adding players through free-agency or in trades as NBA salary cap expert Yossi Gozlan noted that Brooklyn is still projected to have about $25 million in cap space after signing Wagner. However, Gozlan noted that Brooklyn's salary-cap projection depends on how the Randle-Claxton is structured and how the Nets time the move along with some other underlying mechanisms that have to be addressed.

Some of the best remaining free-agents heading into Thursday that are realistic targets for the Nets include: Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura, Denver Nuggets forward Peyton Watson, and Atlanta Hawks forward Jonathan Kuminga, just to name a few. Time will tell which players general manager Sean Marks will go after as free-agency dies down, but the Nets have already taken care of business thus far.

Heading into Day 3 of free-agency, the Nets (reportedly) have:

Re-signed: Josh Minott and Day'Ron Sharpe

Added: Keon Ellis, Julius Randle, and Mo Wagner

Lost: Nic Claxtonhttps://t.co/MeoaXZCRMn
