Recently, Golfweek released its ranking of the top 200 modern golf courses in the U.S. These were based on a course-ratings panel, rating courses on a 10-point bases and voting for their favorites.

Ohoopee Match Club​


275 Beaver Creek Farm, Cobbtown

No. 4: Private, members-only course opened in 2018 with 18 holes over 7,300 yards long. Those interested should email [email protected].

Sea Island Golf Course​


Seaside Courseat 100 Retreat Ave, St. Simons Island

Tied for No. 75: Private course opened 1929, redesigned in 1999 with 18 holes, over 6,600 yards, and a 137 slope. Tea times are $314 for nine holes, $395 for the full course, and replays are available. Reservations can be made at seaisland.com/golf/courses/seaside.

32 Clubhouse Ln, Rising Fawn
