With the arrival of automated ball and strike calling and a challenge system the Rangers are trying to figure out how they are going to leverage it to the benefit of their more discerning hitters.
Kyle Higashioka and Danny Jansen are using the positionally appropriate Crash Davis cliche list to respond to questions about their expected playing time in 2026.
Willie MacIver was picked up off waivers to provide catching depth behind Higashioka and Jansen, and his strongest tool is his sparkling personality.
