Legendary Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald will give his Hall of Fame enshrinement speech on Saturday, but he received his gold jacket Friday night.
It was a special moment.
Arizona Sports' Tyler Drake shared a video of it.
So did the Hall of Fame.
Fitzgerald chose Hall of Fame receiver Cris Carter to put his gold jacket on.
Fitzgerald grew up in Minnesota and, with his father a reporter who covered the Vikings, he knew many Vikings receivers. Carter was influential for Fitzgerald.
Carter's participation completed a Vikings connection with his enshrinement. It was former Vikings receiver Randy Moss, also a Hall of Famer, who broke the news to Fitzgerald that he was inducted. Carter gave him his gold jacket.
Why wasn't there a Cardinals connection?
There almost was. Fitzgerald said former Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner, also a Hall of Famer, was No. 2 on his list.
He now has his gold jacket. All that is left is for him to be presented and for him to give his acceptance speech and his bronze bust to be revealed.
