Moses Moody has missed the last nine games for the Golden State Warriors. The talented guard has been enjoying a career year for Steve Kerr's team, averaging career highs in points (11.9), rebounds (3.3) and assists (1.6) along with a career-best shooting performance from deep (40.2% on 6.2 attempts per night). The Warriors have certainly felt his absence throughout their recent injury-hit stretch.
Fortunately for the Warriors, it would appear Moody is making solid progress in his recovery from injury. According to a team statement, the fifth-year shooting guard is ramping up his on-court intensity during training and is scheduled to be re-evaluated by the medical staff on Tuesday, March 24.
"Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody, who has missed the last nine (9) games after suffering a sprained right wrist against the Los Angeles Clippers on March 2, was re-evaluated today," the statement reads. "The re-evaluation indicated that Moody is making good progress. He has intensified his on-court work (shooting drills, etc.) and will be incorporated into live action in the coming days. He will be re-evaluated again on Tuesday."
A key aspect of Moody's success this season has been down to his positional versatility. He's spent time as a shooting guard (18% of his total minutes), small forward (61% of his total minutes) and power forward (21% of his total minutes) this season, giving head coach Steve Kerr multiple lineup combinations and options.
Moody will have a key role to play in Kerr's rotation between now and the end of the season. His scoring and secondary playmaking could be key during the postseason. As such, the fanbase should be excited to get him back from injury at the earliest opportunity.
