The Warriors have brought back a few key contributors from last year's roster, coming to terms with both Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis on new contracts. Golden State retained another one of their role players Wednesday afternoon, agreeing to re-sign backup point guard De'Anthony Melton on a two-year, $11 million deal, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. The deal includes a player option for the second season.
As Anthony Slater of ESPN reported, Golden State "always wanted" to bring Melton back, as the two sides agreed on a slight raise to do so. Last year, Melton was solid off the bench, averaging a career-high 12.3 points to go along with 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals.
