Two Tennessee basketball players received First-Team All-Central District honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches on Tuesday.
Freshman forward Nate Ament and senior guard Ja'Kobi Gillespie were named to the All-Central District Team. For a second year, the NABC has named 10-man teams across eight regions, which are determined by geography.
The association previously named two five-man teams across 23 districts, determined by conference alignment. The awards are voted on by coaches within their respective districts. The Vols' regional area includes the 36 NCAA Division I schools across six states, including Tennessee, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky and Nebraska.
2025-26 is the fourth consecutive season Tennessee has received NABC All-District honors. This is also the second straight season that Tennessee had two first-team all-district performers after Zakai Zeigler and Chaz Lanier received recognition last season.
The Vols and Iowa State are the only two schools with multiple players who received NABC First-Team All-District Honors.
Ament is averaging 17.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 assist per game in the 2025-26 season, while Gillespie is averaging 18.0 points, 5.5 assists, 2.1 steals and 2.1 rebounds per contest.
