Virginia Tech basketball coach Mike Young continues to build his roster for 2026-27. Once the Hokies reaffirmed the returns of Ben Hammond, Tyler Johnson, Tyler Hansberry and Sin’Cere Jones, Young and his staff went to work, looking for outside help.

It began with the addition of Oklahoma transfer forward Kuol Atak, a 6-foot-9 sharpshooter, followed by Friday’s commitment from 6-foot-9 forward/center Miles Heide. Young added another piece to the puzzle on Saturday, landing a commitment from rising junior transfer Isaiah Elohim.

Isaiah Elohim is a 6-foot-5 guard from Chatsworth, California, and played at one of the nation’s premier programs, Sierra Canyon. He was a top-70 player coming out of high school two years ago and initially committed to USC. He appeared in 18 games as a freshman for the Trojans, averaging only six minutes and two points per game.

He transferred to Florida Atlantic last season, where he started all 32 games and averaged 12.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, while shooting 46.5% from the field and 37% from 3-point range.
