The LSU Tigers just secured one of college basketball's most popular recent personalities, and he won't play a second on the court.
Will Wade has spent a lot of this offseason securing a lot of his former associates between his stops with the McNeese St. Cowboys and NC State Wolfpack. He did it again on Monday, as he will be bringing viral student manager Amir 'Aura' Khan over to the Tigers "in a similar role," per CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.
The mystique around Khan started a couple of years ago at the NCAA tournament with the Cowboys, when Khan's eccentric personality as the student manager won fans over. He had racked up NIL deals, had merch made, and became one of the bigger memes. It has carried over since.
Khan followed Wade to the Wolfpack back in 2025, but went back to McNeese St. before the end of the season. He is a Lake Charles native and wanted to be back home. Now he goes to Baton Rouge, which should be a much easier transition for him.
LSU is going to have to gel together quickly if Wade wants to get back to the tournament, and Khan gets another chance to show off his unlikely stardom.
It's a small move, but another in the long line of Wade wanting to keep some continuity around him. By the nature of college athletics, having people on the staff that are used to work together is important for some semblance of stability.
