Veteran Alabama high school football coach Rush Propst has hit the 300 win mark.
The milestone win came on Friday, Sept. 26, against Blount, as his Coosa Christian squad got the 25-14 win over the Leopards. Propst stepped into the head role for the Conquerors in August, after the Conquerors head coach Mark O'Bryant was suspended for the 2025 AHSAA season by the school.
This is not the first time that Propst has crossed the 300-win mark over the course of his career, as he had some wins vacated due to various sanctions.
Propst rose to fame coaching at Hoover, in part to the MTV show "Two-A-Days" before any of his current players were even born. He later worked in Georgia at Colquitt County and Valdosta, adding two more state titles. He returned to Alabama in 2023, first at Coosa Christian as the athletic director before leaving abruptly to take the Pell City football coaching job.
Winning has not come without a cost for Propst, who faced public allegations of infidelity while at Hoover. He left both of his Georgia coaching jobs under bad terms. He spent just one season at Pell City before abruptly resigning in March of 2024.
Propst won his first 25 games at Ashville before moving to Eufaula, Alba and Alma Bryant over a six-year span, winning 41 more games. From there, he moved to Hoover, winning 110 games and five state titles in the state's biggest classification. He added 119 wins at Colquitt County in Georgia, and his season at Valdosta High is listed as a winless 0-12. Over 33 years, he holds an official record of 300-119.
