Tre Richardson, a wide receiver and return specialist from Division II Washburn University, announced his commitment to Vanderbilt football on Saturday.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder was a first-team all-conference selection in the MIAA after making 52 catches for 983 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2024. He also returned 16 kicks for 386 yards. He began his career at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas.
Richardson was on the indoor track and field team and specialized in the 60, 100, and 200-meter runs as well as the long jump. He finished ninth at the Division II indoor track championships in the 60.
Wide receiver is an area Vanderbilt is in desperate need of more production. Junior Sherrill and Richie Hoskins are the lone significant returners there. The Commodores have also experimented with using cornerback and punt returner Martel Hight on offense.
