The United States Women’s National Team put a 10-match winning streak on the line tonight as they continue their series against Japan in Seattle. The USWNT won 2-1 over Japan in their first of three matches over the weekend in San Jose.
The USWNT had to work for it against Japan, conceding a goal for the first time since October and having to have some excellent defensive moments to preserve the win. They’re hoping to continue to improve against Japan, who clearly came to play and have the talent to make it a close match.
Expect to see full squad rotation in the starting XI, as USWNT head coach Emma Hayes seeks to give everyone enough time against Japan to make an impact as she evaluates the player pool for this fall’s Women’s World Cup qualifying. It’s the team’s first time back in Seattle since 2017, and they hope to make it a terrific homecoming with another win tonight.
