Arguably the biggest star in women’s college basketball is making her long-awaited return to the court this season after suffering an ACL tear in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
USC superstar JuJu Watkins missed the entire 2025-26 season recovering from surgery. But now, the two-time All-American is healthy and ready to lead the Trojans to a national championship next March.
USC posted a video teasing Watkins’ return on social media on Monday.
In addition to getting Watkins back from injury, USC has multiple other key returners and new players on its 2026-27 roster that make the program a top contender to win the national championship.
Rising sophomore Jazzy Davidson is coming back after a standout freshman campaign last season. Davidson is the reigning Big Ten Freshman Player of the Year and National Freshman of the Year. With Watkins on the sidelines, Davidson stepped up to lead the Trojans through the season and into the NCAA Tournament.

USC also has some of the nation’s best incoming freshmen joining the team next season.
Like Watkins and Davidson, five-star guard Saniyah Hall is the No. 1 overall recruit in her class and will join USC next season. Five-star Australian guard Sitaya Fagan will also be playing for the Trojans, equipping USC with one of the top freshmen duos in the nation and the NCAA’s No. 1 recruiting class of 2026.

“We could not be more excited with our class of 2026,” said fifth-year head coach Lindsay Gottlieb via the USC Athletics website. “We think we have the best class in the country and the best duo in the country. Both for what they bring as humans and as talented athletes, but also how they fit with what we are as a program and what we are aiming to become.”
Official practices for the 2026-27 season will begin sometime in September.
