Daniel Rodriguez landed a hard low kick that took Uros Medic off his feet, and about 10 seconds later it was all over.
Problem was, for Rodriguez, he was seeing stars from the canvas hearing a sold-out crowd blow the proverbial roof off the place for Medic. The home-country hero headliner recovered from the kick, drilled Rodriguez (20-6 MMA, 10-5 UFC) with a left to the chin, followed by a couple punches and a knee, and a few seconds later Medic (14-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) had a 30-second knockout.
Medic was back in his home country of Serbia, where the UFC was making its first appearance, for the first time in nine years. His win was his fourth straight, and they've all been in 79 seconds or less. Medic's finish put a capper on a UFC Fight Night 283 event that set a promotional record for the most stoppage wins with a dozen, and a record nine in the first round.
