The North Carolina Tar Heels are entering the first year under Michael Malone as they hired the head coach back in April. Malone has put together his roster for the upcoming season and before we know it, there will be games being played.
But on Monday, it was announced that North Carolina will be facing off against a Big Ten team in an exhibition game this Fall. It will be the first time we see the Tar Heels on the court.
The Tar Heels and USC Trojans will meet on October 9th at First Horizon Coliseum as part of the Preseason Premiere event.
This is the first of two scheduled exhibition games for North Carolina this preseason. They will face off against Indiana on October 18th in Indianapolis. The preseason games a becoming more and more popular as it allows teams to schedule opponents they may not see often.
It's also a chance for the fans to get a look at their program. For UNC, they enter this season with a lot of hope and are being ranked as a fringe top 25 team. USC still has some work to do, going 18-14 overall and 7-14 in the Big Ten, missing the NCAA Tournament.
