UFC Belgrade video: Stephanie Luciano spoils Serbian debut with choke

Stephanie Luciano did not get Serbia's efforts off to a good start at UFC Fight Night 283 when she shocked local fighter Marina Spasic in the first round.

After taking some hard shots from the newcomer Spasic (7-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) in the opening minutes of the strawweight bout at Belgrade Arena, Luciano (8-2-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) got the fight into her world on the ground, took the back of her opponent then locked in a rear-naked choke for the tap at the 3:30 mark of Round 1.

Luciano, 26, is now showing signs as a potential future player at 115 pounds after back-to-back wins. The Brazilian was thrilled by her performance, and expressed high hopes in her post-fight interview with Michael Bisping.

"No need to boo, Serbia is beautiful – I loved it here.," Luciano said through an interpreter. "It's what I come to do is finish fight. I work hard and dedicate myself, and this is what happens when you dedicate yourself. I'm a new generation. This is what we do.
