Bogdan Guskov had no answers for Magomed Ankalaev.

Ankalaev (21-2-1 MMA, 12-2-1 UFC) mixed in his striking and grappling to score the TKO finish of Guskov (18-3-1 MMA, 4-1-1 UFC) at the 2:41 of Round 5. The light heavyweight bout was the UFC Fight Night 282 main event at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

Ankalaev started his attack with a couple of low kicks, as Guskov returned with a few of his own. Guskov landed a high kick as Ankalaev pressured. Ankalaev connected with a straight left. Ankalaev continued to pick apart Guskov with high kicks. Ankalaev ducked under a Guskov spinning back kick and finished the round by landing a combination.

In Round 2, Ankalaev landed a straight right as the slow pace continued. He landed another high kick, but Guskov was tentative with his approach. Guskov landed a solid right hand which prompted Ankalaev to shoot for a takedown. Ankalaev kept Guskov pressed against the cage in the clinch for the rest of the round, as the crowd booed.

Ankalaev continued landing with his high kick in Round 3. The restless crowd showered both fighters with booes. Ankalaev landed the best punch of the fight when he backed Guskov up with a left hand. Guskov fired with a high kick of his own, but mounted little to no offense in the round. Ankalaev stalked him, but Guskov was backing away. Ankalaev caused a cut near Guskov's right eye.

Ankalaev started Round 4 with a takedown and got it with ease. He rode top control for over a minute until he transitioned to his back. Ankaalev's rear-naked choke attempt came close, but Guskov escaped. Ankalaev got under the chin again, but Guskov fought the hands. Ankalaev finished the round in full mount.

In Round 5, Ankalaev went right back to the wrestling. Guskov grabbed his neck, but Ankalaev broke free. Ankalaev rode Guskov and pounded him out until referee Marc Goddard stopped the fight.

Ankalaev returned to the win column after losing his light heavyweight title to Alex Pereira at UFC 320 this past October.
