Wavy red-and-white stripes define one of the two U.S. Men's National Team kits for World Cup 2026.

Wavy red and white stripes and chrome-tinted navy stars define the World Cup 2026 look for the U.S. Men’s National Team. The USMNT and Nike revealed the updated look ahead of a friendly against Belgium in Atlanta later this month, showing a look that will define the team throughout one of the host country’s most visible World Cup events.
To kick off the creation, Nike designers met with USMNT players and staff. The obvious starting point for the 2026 World Cup design was red, white and blue. From there, though, design could go a lot of direction, so Nike asked players what they wanted. Key words cropped up, such as “sophisticated,” “luxurious” and “swag.” That sent the dark kit for the U.S. into a “rich color palette,” with a deep navy blue that almost looks black from distance. Close up, though, stars knit into the design features a hint of chrome to help them shine on the big stage.
“What a way to bring the swag out of the star jersey,” Natalie McKeough, Nike color designer, says in a statement.

With the blue dialed in, the red paired with white for the other U.S. kit. With no other federation in the world having the red-and-white striped look that helps the U.S. stand out the same way other countries do with signature designs, Nike opted for a slight curve of the stripes to create a feeling of energy, mimicking the American flag waving in the wind. The design also updates and modernizes the horizontal striping that was made popular during 2012, linking to the past with a reinvention.
“Updating something that is recognizable is our way of honoring the past but still creating something new,” McKeough says.
The phrase “The Best of U.S.” is included on the inside collar of both tops, which are each paired with navy shorts to complete the look.

Nike plans to reveal a long list of federation kits for the World Cup, starting with the U.S., Canada and Brazil. No matter the federation, Nike gives each country its Aero-Fit fabric, a stitch-specific knitting process designed to help players stay cool during the summer tournament. The brand says they’ve engineered the yarn at the stitch level to craft a highly texturized knit that combines open and closed mesh zones to move air across the body and help lift the fabric off the skin, claiming it delivers “more than twice the airflow of legacy fabrics.
Graphic elements and prints get placed directly into the kits, not added on top. “These kits bring the best of Nike together with an apparel innovation designed to remove climate as a variable for athletes and design that reflects a deep connection to each federation’s DNA,” Amy Montagne, Nike president, says in a statement, “creating something athletes feel proud to wear and fans feel truly connected to.”

Canada unveiled the federation’s pair of uniforms ahead of the World Cup, opting for a multi-toned red design for one and a black kit for the other. In the red design, the Canada-centric maple leaf in red shading marks the center of the kit. The black uniform features a cracked ice design of white meant to harken to the country’s frozen landscapes.

Brazil and Nike go dark blue with Jordan Brand's first federation kit for World Cup 2026.

The Brazilian kit from Nike’s Jordan Brand—the label’s first federation kit after working alongside Paris Saint-Germain since 2018—offers a fresh take on Brazil’s alternate blue colorway. The away design goes dark, with the deep navy and black kit inspired by the poison dart frog and featuring shading and texturing akin to the frog’s skin. The Jordan Brand’s famed elephant print from the 1980s sneaker design is part of the backdrop.
